...or life imitating facebook?
it has taken over my life. slowly, stealthily, subversively; facebook has sucked me into its void of fascinating facts, friends, photos and links, straight out of other people's ordinary and extraordinary lives. it used to be applications. now it's chatting at all hours of the day and night with friends from all over the globe and reading about their lives, their loves and their little (or big) adventures.
apparently others, in increasing numbers, are suffering the same fate.

note the irony of including here, the facebook link. facebook is open in another tab. right now. I can update my status while I'm updating my blog. I can publish my blog to facebook. I can include widgets here so that you can find me on facebook and follow me on twitter.
I am yet to work out a couple of these things. I am yet to update my profile, alter the layout, add the widgets and attend to all those other menial (creative) jobs, which other bloggers can keep up with WHILE THEY'RE NOT ON FACEBOOK.
I am very rarely NOT on facebook. if I'm at home, it's up (whether or not I'm in front of it). if I'm out, I have facebook for iphone. I am never very far away...from any of you. a friend informed she does the same thing, checking the iphone when she's out or cleaning or dancing when she's at home and moving the mouse every so often just to see who's online...yeah, ok, ok, you got me; it's usually me.
my friends- really- are all online! and I have some truly extraordinary friends, let me tell you; all of them leading their truly extraordinary lives, which amuse and interest and inspire me. I know what they're up because they tell me via a status update or a wall message or a private message or via a shared link to a video about something that has captured their attention or about something that has directly or indirectly happened to them.
things happen and I find out about them on facebook. so sue me.
and if it hasn't happened on facebook, has it ever really happened at all?
